DuPont has announced that it will serve as The Premier Sponsor of the XVIIth World Congress on Safety and Health at Work to be held September 18-22 in Orlando, Florida. The Congress is a five-day event – including an array of educational platforms (technical, practical, research topics) and networking opportunities.

The World Congress on Safety and Health at Work is an international forum of 3000+ professionals who gather every 3 years to exchange ideas, research and best practices on highly topical issues in the area of Occupational Safety and Health.

Attendees include: safety engineers and technicians, hygienists, ergonomists, occupational physicians, labor inspectors, scientists and researchers, technical factory inspectors, trainers and teachers, workers and their representatives, decision makers in the public sector and in social security, senior executives in industry, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Ellen Kullman group vice president – DuPont Safety & Protection, who will deliver the World Congress' closing keynote address September 22, said DuPont agreed to serve as The Premier Sponsor because the company's history of safety and health as a core value is aligned with the objectives of the World Congress and its organizers. DuPont – whose leaders will provide nine presentations at the World Congress – is considered one of the safest industrial companies in the world. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor's latest available statistics in 2003, DuPont has a workplace safety record that is more than 10 times better than the U.S. industry average.
